Wonka Day - Raising Funds For Alzheimers Research On Aug 29
Posted by Benedict Appleby on August 10, 2018
On August 29, 2016, the world lost one of its great talents when Gene Wilder passed away from complications of Alzheimer's disease.
You would be hard pressed to find somebody who didn't enjoy Wilder's portrayal of Willy Wonka in the 1971 classic, "Willy Wonka & The Chocolate Factory". And so, with this in mind, Chocablock have decided to nominate Aug 29 as our annual fundraiser in the name of Wilder and his wonderful career.
We will dedicate 10% of the value of every order received on August 29 to Dementia Australia, who recently rebranded from Alzheimer's Australia to create a unified, national peak body for people, of all ages, living with all forms of dementia, their families and carers.
We encourage all our regular and soon-to-be new customers to choose this day to order your chocolates for your upcoming celebrations so we can all help move the world one step closer to a cure for this terrible disease.
